Academy Boys Are Top Of The Class
ALTHOUGH THEY hope to be knocking on the first-team door in a few years' time,
four Bolton Wanderers Academy scholars have achieved an excellent set of academic exam results.
Robert Sissons, Matt Cassidy, Les Thompson and Michael Roddy
have all recently received their long-awaited results of the A2 modules they sat in January.
And the wait was worthwhile as Les achieved a Grade A in Physical Education and
Michael obtained Grade Bs in Business Studies and Physical Education.
Both of the lads studied at Preston College.
Studying at Kirkham Grammar School Matt recorded Grade A, B and C in three modules of General Studies.
However, top of the class, was Robert, who also attended Kirkham. The young midfielder got Grade A
in Chemistry and History plus three Grade As in General Studies, including a 100% score on one paper.
The Academy's Head of Education and Welfare, Fran Walsh, said:
"This is quite an extraordinary set of results from all of our boys considering that they attend college/school
for only one and a half days per week. Well done to them all and their respective alma maters."
